Significance:
Chethiyagiri Vihara Festival is celebrated in November by the people of Sanchi in Raisen District, Madhya Pradesh.During this time hundreds of pilgrims come here to see the relics of the two great disciples of the Buddha, Sariputta and Mahamogallena.
These relics where discovered from the Stupa 3 which is now placed in the vihara. The relics are brought out during the festival and the pilgrims come to pay their homage from all over the country.
